Dina Kagan

Producer/Director

I’ve been making films for more than 20 years. My work has been nominated for the regional Academy Awards and has received support from numerous festivals and organizations worldwide. My films, both fiction and documentary, focus on humanitarian issues. My intention is to bring out beauty and connection through film. I fell in love with the San Pedro River and have focused my work on helping preserve this precious habitat.

Michael Foster

Nature Cinematographer

I have been walking the Upper San Pedro River for the last 38 years. The river is a sanctuary for an incredible variety of animals in the middle of the extensive Southern Arizona deserts. I have been making videos about the river to express its value not only for the creatures but for the human spirit that longs for a functioning healthy ecosystem. I hope others will share my values not to take more than the land can provide and to work to improve this vital river link that works as an ecological corridor in our precious world.

Gilbert Urias

Nature Cinematographer

It has been a great privilege to work as a natural history cinematographer over the past 45 years. I worked with National Geographic Television, The Discovery Channel and the BBC and I was nominated for two Emmy Awards in 1997, by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. I love filming wildlife, especially here in the Sonoran Desert. I’d like to believe that by showing the beauty of our great wilderness, people from all walks of life will appreciate, enjoy and preserve these special places.

Ralph Waldt

Naturalist and Author

I am a professional naturalist who has spent more than 55 years living and working in the American West. I have led more than 1,600 educational hikes in Montana and southern Arizona and have served as keynote speaker at events for The Wilderness Society, the international Crown of the Continent Workshop, the Montana Audubon Society’s statewide meeting, and others. Of the many rivers that I have come to know, the San Pedro is a true standout, a stream of exceptional ecological value. Protecting the river and its watershed is of the utmost importance. At this point in history, I believe we are faced with the last chance we may ever have to keep this rare gem of a river flowing.
